Sunbear KZ57 SBPAF Humbucker Pickup Set

The KZ57 SBPAF Humbucker Pickup Set is Sunbear Pickups’ interpretation of the earliest Kalamazoo PAFs, based on the winding characteristics of the original Geo Stevens winding machines used during the first years of PAF production.

It is a dual coil design developed from the analysis of original vintage pickups, with winding specifications including turns per layer, coil build and winding tension taken directly from early examples. The design incorporates subtle refinements to accommodate the consistency of modern coil wire while preserving the response of the original pickups.

The bridge pickup uses an unoriented Alnico 5 magnet and measures approximately 8.0 kΩ. The neck pickup uses an Alnico 2 magnet and measures approximately 7.3 kΩ. The set is lightly wax potted and supplied with Sunbear's medium aged covers, individually hand finished and reshaped to match original vintage examples.
