The 58 Archive (formerly “Reserve”) SBPAF set was originally inspired by Bob Wootton’s Burst! example—specifically the bridge pickup, praised as one of the finest. The specifications—turns per layer, coil shape, steel parts, coil offsets—are drawn directly from 1957/58 originals, with medium-aged nickel covers shaped to match the originals.
Bridge (Alnico II, ±8.1k): Rich mids, airy highs, and rounded lows that respond dynamically to player feel.
Neck (Alnico III, ±7.4k): Classic, open humbucker tone with expressive highs and satisfying low-end warmth.
Wired with two-conductor vintage braid and thin nickel-plated covers without copper plating.
