Ron Ellis JL Telecaster Neck Pickup

The JL is a lower wound Telecaster neck pickup originally developed for Julian Lage.

The design replicates the neck pickup found in Julian Lage’s original 1954 Telecaster, and he currently uses the JL pickup in two of his Telecasters.

The pickup features a slightly scooped midrange with pronounced high and low frequencies, producing a clear and open tonal response.

This voicing provides strong note separation and dynamic range, making the JL suitable for a wide range of musical styles from blues to jazz.
