Mojo Firebird Sized Gold Foil Open Pickup Set

The Cooder Spec Gold Foil is Mojo Pickups’ interpretation of the classic Teisco style Gold Foil, built to original 1960s specifications in a Firebird or mini humbucker format.

It is a true single coil design that delivers the characteristic Gold Foil response without requiring modification to the guitar. The construction follows vintage correct methods, using 44 AWG wire and a rubberised ceramic magnet, which together produce the slightly compressed attack and soft but punchy magnetic response typical of original units.

This combination results in a bright yet full tone with strong string separation and a distinctive upper mid character. The response remains clear under both light and aggressive playing, making it particularly effective for slide work and touch sensitive styles.

The neck pickup measures approximately 6.1 kΩ for clarity and balance, while the bridge pickup measures approximately 7 kΩ for added presence and drive.
