This is a used set of Don Mare Junior Watson Stratocaster pickups, originally custom-wound for blues legend Junior Watson. These pickups were later renamed the Super Sports set, drawing inspiration from the 1964 era—widely considered the best for vintage Strat tones.

The Junior Watson set features enamel-coated 42 AWG wire and Alnico V magnets, delivering a soulful, dynamic sound that’s both full and organic. The bridge pickup is hotter than typical vintage Strat pickups, making it ideal for players who want a bridge tone with punch but without the shrill high-end often found in stock pickups.
